What are usernames?

A username will appear in your profile URL and is unique to you.

A common example of a username is some variation on your name. For example, someone named Jane Doe might choose "janedoe" for her username so her friends can visit her Lockerz profile by going to http://lockerz.com/u/janedoe

What are the guidelines around creating a username?

Certain terms and conditions apply to all usernames. In general, those guidelines include:

• You cannot claim a username someone else is already using
• Your username must only contain numbers, letters and periods; no special characters or hyphens
• Your username must contain a minimum of three characters and a maximum of twenty characters
• Your username is subject to Lockerz Terms of Use and, among other things, cannot include any content that is defamatory or libelous, threatens harm or injury of any kind, or is harassing, discriminatory, unlawful, obscene, or gratuitously violent.
• Choose your username you'll be happy with for the long term. Usernames are not transferable and you can only change your username once.
• You are encouraged to have a username that corresponds with your real identity. To the extent you wish to customize, have, or use a username that does or in our sole discretion is likely to mislead, deceive, or confuse others.
• You may not select, customize, have or use a username through which you claim to be or attempt to impersonate another person (natural or legal) or that infringes on, interferes with or violates the intellectual property right (e.g., trademarks and copyrights), right of privacy or right of publicity of another.

We reserve the right to reclaim or remove any username if we determine that it violates any of the terms and conditions or that it is appropriate to do so. You agree that any such determination is within our sole discretion and is final and conclusive. Depending on the violation, we also reserve the right to take any and all other appropriate action, including without limitation, terminating your membership. What if I misspell my username?

If you misspell your username, you can change it once. 
 

How do I change my username?

Visit your Settings and click 'About Me'. Enter in your desired username under the 'Personal Lockerz URL' section and click 'Save URL" after you are done. 

Remember: You can only change your username once. 

How many usernames does each person get?

Users can only have once account and are not allowed to have more than one username for that account. Users also are not allowed to "squat" on other usernames.

What if the username I want isn't available?

If a username is already taken or not approved, you'll need to pick a different one. Not all usernames will be available to each member. Before making usernames generally available, certain brand owners and members had the chance to have reserved or select permissible usernames. Upon making usernames generally available, we will attempt to allocate permissible usernames on a first-come, first-assigned basis. In addition, permissible usernames must be unique. As a result, a desired and permissible username may not be available to you and may require you to make another selection.

Who can see my username?

Your username is accessible to the public. Since your username is found in your Lockerz profile, anyone who is able to navigate to your profile or search for you on the Internet will be able to see your username. Usernames are not Personally Identifiable Information under Lockerz' Privacy Policy.

Will username URLs be available in multiple languages?

Not at this time.
